Orange and Yellow Hippie Crochet Headband

This colourful hippie headband is called

"Beltane Blessings"

This beautiful fire colours headband was hand crocheted from hand dyed and hand spun merino yarn. It's light and airy and won't scratch or warm you too much when wearing it at a sunny festival.

It has a green spiral pattern needle felted onto it and it has a small drop like edging in the crochet work.

It is adorned with velvet and silk millinery flowers and a wild rose in dark leaf green, burnished dark red, caramel and bronze.

On this is sewn a hand sculpted polymer clay ornament, sculpted on a green hand patinaed brass filigree. The ornament has a buttercup yellow base and is topped with a dark red and an orange flower, long swirly, green vines, from which little green petals sprout. From the little flower sprout some more green petals.

Everything was sewn on by hand.

The headband ties at the back with a dark leaf green ribbon. This will make it fit any head. The band is about 51 cm around and 4 cm high including the droplet edging. The flower head piece with filigree and clay ornament is 9 cm long and 8 cm high.

I love working with handspun yarn, the colours and textures are like nothing else! It's also much more eco-friendly since no machinery is used to produce it. And I love that I can support other artisans with my work, too.
The yarn with which the head band was crocheted was hand dyed and hand spun by awesome Suzy from WoolWench:
