This needle felted picture on real Harris Tweed is called

"Heather Wings"

These fairies love living in Scotland, because their favourite thing to do,
is dyeing their wings with heather for parties!

This is a needle felted picture depicting two fairies, getting ready for a party. One fairy is dyeing the other fairy's wings with heather flowers.
The left fairy wears a lemon yellow dress with a purple pocket and moss green art yarn poofy trims at the skirt hem and sleeves. She wears a blue necklace, aqua green tights and a lime green and blue flower crown on her pink hair. Her tall wings are different shades of purple: dark aubergine, mauve pruple and very light lilac. She has dark skin.
The right fairy wears a grass green dress with also a purple pocket, and deep see blue trimming at the hem of the skirt, sleeves and neck of the dress, made with silk yarn. She has very colourful tights and wears yellow and pink flower crown on her purple hair. Her tall wings are dark aubergine purple and pink.
The fairies are sitting among heather bushes and flowers, made from silk yarns in dark aubergine and aqua green and blue and there's a round, green bush almost picked clean of its purple and pink flowers, that was felted 3d, so that it sticks out of the picture.
In between the two fairies there's a light coloured basket full of picked flowers to use for dyeing, which was also felted 3d.
Around the fairies flutter little butterflies.
The scene was needle felted onto a royal blue felt backing and then sewn onto a beautiful magenta and purple patterned Harris Tweed background.
Then the felt picture was lined with a hand dyed handspun purple merino yarn needle felted trim and pink merino flowers at the corners.
The picture has been needle felted with merino wool and hand dyed and handspun silk art yarns.

The whole painting, picture and Harris Tweed background is around 17.5 cm wide and 12.5 cm wide, the felt picture is 13 cm wide and 8 cm high and the whole is set in a dark wooden frame, which is about 19.5 cm wide and 14.5 cm high. The frame can both be hung on the wall and set upon a dresser.
