This bold and beautiful headdress is called

"Harvest Queen"

and is wonderful to wear as an accessory to your Halloween costume, festival or Ren Faire costume or as your Autumn bridal headdress.

It was made with beautiful, vibrant hand dyed and hand spun art yarn from Wensleydale, Romney and Gottland locks. The yarn has several colours: heather pink, sunset pink, soft peach, fall orange and dark forest green.

It was wrapped firmly around a wire so that the crown is shape-able and sturdy.

There are 4 centerpieces on this extravagant crown. They are all sewn on by hand and 3 of them consist of frosted pumpkins, frosted red and aubergine berries, a sunflower, green, pink and yellow millinery oak leaves, pumpkin leaves and vines, silk and velvet millinery violets and hydrangeas in purple, burnished brown, fall red, moss green and teal. There are large gold and white frosted dark blue hydrangea petals and mustard yellow and reddish brown little wild roses.

To the left side of the forehead there is a beautiful hand sculpted ornament. It was built on an ornate brass filigree and a hand sculpted polymer clay cameo. The cameo base is golden, burnished brown and it's adorned with harvest bounty. Pumpkins, red apples and corn are surrounded by flowers, petals and vines, in purple, sky blue, buttercup yellow, orange, moss green and gold. The flowers have lemon yellow rhinestone hearts and the whole is lightly dusted with golden shimmer.

The crown can be worn on the forehead and higher up the forehead (for more photos, see my Facebook page).

The wreath closes with moss green shimmering organza ribbon at the back, so it fits any head. The headdress is 57 cm around and about 1 cm thick in most places. The pumpkin centerpieces are about 10 cm high and 10 cm wide, the pumpkins stick out at about 5,5 cm. The polymer clay ornament is 4 cm wide and 3 cm high.

The art yarn used was spun by Suzy from WoolWench:
